About this opportunity
We are currently recruiting for two confident and skilled counsellors’ for a role within our specialist young refugee and asylum seeker counselling service:
- 15 hours p.w. based in our Croydon offices
- Salary pro rata of £30, 708 p.a. (point 25) inclusive of Outer London Weighting
Offering short-term individual counselling, using interpreters where appropriate, to young refugees, asylum seekers and forced migrants at Off the Record’s main building and in secondary schools/colleges. Some work in the community is also a requirement plus an evening or a Saturday morning.
You need to hold a counselling Diploma (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 250 hours clinical experience with at least some experience of counselling young people preferably with some experience of counselling refugees/asylum seekers and /or having worked with trauma. A training qualification in trauma would be ideal but not necessary.
Off the Record is a well-established and highly regarded, South-London based, young people’s mental health charity who have been supporting young people in tough times for 25 years. We work across the London boroughs of Croydon, Sutton and Merton providing high quality mental health interventions working within a broadly humanistic framework.
