About this training
Interested in running groups or wish to brush up on your group skills?
Groups are an integral part of our development; we are born into a group, develop within groups and experience a range of groups throughout our lives. All of these groups can impact on us both positively and negatively.
As counsellors and psychotherapists, we often work 1-1 and sometimes with couples. As a further tool, group therapy can be a powerful co-created learning experience for both clients and therapists.
With Transactional Analysis theory and clinical examples; we will explore the beginning, middle and end of group therapy;
- Planning and preparation of a group
- How to support the group to form and develop
- What can emerge in the group process
- How to support the group to repair from ruptures
- How to facilitate an ending
We will learn how to manage group process therapeutically to gain the desired changes from the perspective of client and therapist.
This course is suitable for those who have qualified or near in completion of their training. This course will extend your knowledge and skill base to work with groups.
